What a Notary Actually Does (and Doesn't)

A notary checks who you are, confirms you're signing willingly, and completes the certificate. That's the whole job — and it's a narrower job than most people expect.

A notary doesn't write your document, pick your form, or give legal advice. If a document needs drafting or a form needs choosing, that's attorney territory. Our part is the identity check, the ceremony, and the certificate, done right every time.

Veritas Notary LLC is a veteran-owned mobile and online notary practice based in Greenville, Texas. We travel to homes, offices, and hospitals across Hunt County and Northeast Texas, and we notarize online for signers anywhere — our notary is commissioned in Texas and physically in Texas for every online session.

This blog is where we explain the work in plain English: what we can and can't notarize, how online notarization works, and how to show up prepared. A good place to start is The Seal Files #1: things we've been asked to notarize that we legally cannot.

Need one? Book an appointment or check our fees first — they're published, flat, and explained up front.
